I'm watching a house for rent post on FB. There have been at least 50 responses. It never fails, someone always asks "is the price negotiable?" They're having to beat applicants off with a broom, what in the world makes you think the price would never be negotiable? lol

for us we got that a lot. My stock answer was to add 100.00 and watch the puzzled look. My next reply was something along the lines of: "You asked me if I could do better and I just did...for me.

They sometimes get snarky and the interview is ended right there. this is for the ones I see in person. For those that ask this on the phone or text I just say/write "no" and hang up or not reply. --74.105.xxx.xxx

JB/OR but it's on FB. If you are getting tons of inquiries at full price and then one that says "Negotiable?" it makes one question that person's smarts...line after line of "Interested!" and then "Negotiable?" stands out like a sore thumb.

I've had them ask and I've said no.

I had one ask for a $50 reduction in exchange for a two year lease. I agreed to a $25 reduction and did the two year lease. So it helped him to ask. It's easy to politely say no. In some cultures it's very common so I consider that as well. --216.186.xxx.xx

I guess I couldn't fathom someone doing that on a listing with a lot of inquiries. It wouldn't crack me up-more so make me shake my head.
