Today's news:

Remember that NY LL who was arrested for changing the locks on her property to kick out a squatter? The situation was just reversed. SHe was not charged and the squatter was charged in court with burglary, etc, etc.

Side note: there are still people in the home. The squatter was renting out rooms.

The headline said NY state was changing the definition of TENANT.

Anyone who has been on this forum for a while already had a good idea of his last name. But speaking of proofreading before sending -

I once meant to forward a nasty email from a tenant about the aftermath of a pipe leak that damaged a rental's ceiling to my hubby to see during his lunch break. I managed to hit "Reply" instead of "Forward" - fortunately, I didn't say anything nasty about the tenants myself. But they jumped all over me for my suggesting (to my hubby) that we should use Kilz on a small drywall repair associated with the leak. These hyper-whole-food and anti-chemical people were thinking that it was the oil-based original Kilz to which I referred, and lashed out that "That stuff is TOXIC! We'll move out and sue you for our security deposit!" I had to calmly fill them in that we would use the water-based Kilz, and that we would never dream of using the other type ourselves.

That's funny cuz water based Kilz will not seal in the mold. And the mold woudl still be there, hiding, lurking until no one looks. Would they also panic over BLEACH??
