Outsquatting the Squatters

Landlords are now beating squatters at their own game. They are learning how to turn the tables by squatting on the squatters.

This concept of invading the homes of the squatters was made very public by Mr. Flash Shelton: He became a national inspiration to landlords when he employed bold strategies to evict a mother-daughter grifter team from his mother’s family home.

The dramatic event was recorded by Mr. Shelton and uploaded on YouTube.

His amateur production of outwitting the mother-daughter grifter team offered a glimpse of what could be accomplished when the injured party (i.e. landlord) refuses to be handcuffed by an inept and morally bankrupt judicial system. He is a handyman by trade and used to getting the job done himself.

Landlords must have been gobsmacked by the simplicity of his strategy as evidenced by the more than two million views in less than 48 hours. The informal eviction process would prove to take approximately 24 hours . . ..

When 1 squatter who rented a room from my 7 year tenant, was told to leave, given 1 years notice, the squatter contacted Los Angeles's Free Legal Aid and two false police were filed against me. I had to defend myself in 4 different courts. The Squatter and Free Legal Aid were found to have filed false police reports, altered official documents and lied to the judge. What happened to them? Nothing. Lairs I mean Lawyers are allowed to lie to protect their clients. The police didn't care that a squatter lied to keep a roof over their head.

I’m lucky. We just had new bill passed I. Florida to fix this problem. Starting July 1, you will need to file an affidavit with the court that you own the property and the people living in it are not your tenants or relatives and you have never had a landlord/tenant relationship with them. Once that’s done the sheriff will immediately remove them. No more long drawn out court battles/proceedings.

We need to copy/paste that bill to every member in our personal districts.

I do not recommend the actions of this now famous LL.

BTW he charges several thousand$$$ to do his thing.

Just changing the locks, with out without a lease, is "constructive eviction" and can land him in jail.

Not sure how he is getting around that.

Brad, my guess is the squatters are serial criminals and do NOT want to get law enforcement involved. Even then, the cops won't arrest him. "It's a civil matter." The squatters would have to take him to court and prove he did wrong... and how can they... you have to have standing to sue someone, and squatter tenants with a fake lease have no standing since they are unlawful occupants.

The problem in these areas is there is no law against squatting; in fact, there are laws PROTECTING squatters. Thus, there is no law broken when a 2nd squatter squats, or a 3rd, or a 4th, etc. It goes to infinity until someone gets a judge to say they are not legal occupants. No policeman will arrest anyone unless there is a disturbance of the peace.

I knew I should have started a company when I first mentioned it years ago in a post here! Hire the right people to invade the house where the squatters are and have them be so obnoxious that the squatters want to leave! lol
