So my handyman just retired and I'm not able to install one.now. I have had the darnest time to find another handy man , Ads in Craig's list has guys that are hours away.Local hardware stores havn't been to help/

So I was wondering if anyone has used HD or Lowes to do this if you buy one of their toilets? Was the cost at all in line what you might expect to pay? --24.34.xxx.xxx

I use Lowe's to install water heaters and sometimes storm doors. Yes I would try home depot's toilet install. Everything cost more these days so the goal is to get it done. So take care of it the best you can. --172.59.xxx.xx

Typically more expensive but if you can't find someone else you are stuck.

I have used their carpet installs when I have an entire house and need new pad as well. Got them installed free to me. Only had one bad install. Called and they fixed the issue promptly.

I know a guy that installs exclusively for Lowes. He won't even do side jobs any more because he rakes in the money. --107.147.xx.xx

My #1 plumber, who I use on all rehabs, buys the toilet at a local plumbing wholesale company and then installs the toilet that very day. Usually, the floor collar/flange? has to be replaced first before the new toilet goes down.

I posted a few weeks ago about Lowes trying to sell me installation service when I bought a new bath faucet. They quoted me over 2x what my plumber charges.

Just call a plumbing company and tell them to pick one up and install it. You will save the overhead that HD will add to the plumbers bill. --98.174.xxx.xx

Are there any areas in your town where they are building new houses? If so, go there and talk to the crews. Ask if they know which plumber is doing this house...then call that plumber. I've found many of the plumbers that work on new houses are "one man show" kind of people and may be willing to do it for you.

I've never used Lowes for plumbing, but I have for other things and generally have not been happy with their work. They cut corners and just want to get it done as quickly as possible, and they have no reputation to protect (usually they are not Lowes employees, they are subcontractors). --64.38.xxx.xxx
