Anyone know about riser responsibility in a condo. building. My neighbor below informed me she is getting water on her walls. Which is directly below my bathroom sink. Her and the Property Manager tell me even though the risers are inside the walls, I am responsible for them. How can this be? Where in my decs. and bi laws does this proclaim?

It should be mentioned in your bi laws, because it's a big issue between neighbors in condo complexes. --99.59.x.xxx

condo owner owns the space between the walls. the riser is in the wall so I would think you are not responsible for bldg (plumbing) problem. --166.137.xxx.xx

With one exception, all of the condo complexes that I've worked in, the individual unit owners were only responsible for the water lines, drain lines & wiring that were actually in their unit. For the water supply the unit owners were responsible from the shutoff that was just inside their unit to all of the fixtures in their unit. For drain lines the unit owners were responsible from the main stack (s) to the rest of their unit.

I'm sure this isn't the first time this has come up at your complex. You need to check both the bylaws & the minutes from the condo board meetings. --96.237.xx.xx
