For those of you that only receive income from your rental property business and who no longer work a W-2 job, on your tax return it asks for your occupation. What do you use as your designation? I have been putting "Retired" but not sure that is the best thing to have there.

What say you? --24.20.xxx.xxx

what is the particular meaning of this? Rental homes always go on schedule E? What does it mean to do "as a bundle"? --144.250.xx.xx

Real Estate Professional was what the CPA put down when I took our returns in the first year I had a rental. I was still working a few sessions a week as therapy aide that first year. --70.92.xxx.xxx

CPA put Landlord on mine, I think I'm going to ask her to put Tenant Accountability Engineer next year, it sounds better and I bet they still take my money no matter what it says. --50.26.xx.xxx

This response is for David MI:

1. What is the particular meaning of this?

- just CPA/tax preparer talk.

2. Rental Homes always go on Sch E?

- not if you don't report income/loss from rentals...

3. What does it mean to do as a bundle?

- ask your CPA. Each Sch E form has space for 3 rentals.

So you use as many forms as you need. Dah.
