This comes up every few years. The Denver wants to start charging us twice for trash collection by adding a monthly fee, and there is a lot of pushback. Rightfully so. This affects only my house and my 4-unit buildings.

This is despite the hot economy here, the construction boom, property taxes way up, weed tax, sales tax, increased population, etc. It's never enough.

The city spends $25 million per year on trash collect and $50 million on the bums and other street people. Go figure.

The city doesn't pick up at commercial properties, of course, but we don't get a tax discount for what we pay for trash collection.

P.S. We all have alleys behind our property, so there are no trash cans on the street. At least they did that right.

If the bums would simply clean up after themselves... Need to replace government with on-the-job bum training, but then so many cacooned workers would feel threatened by the trained former bums who will have not only trained smarts but also bum acquired street smarts, it is time for my medication now, this is starting to make sense.

Los Angeles City charges landlords and tenant triple, you're lucky for only being charged twice!

The City makes landlords who use too many bins and cover the street on trash collection day to have a City 3 Yard Dumpster. And then the City still charges everyone who has an electric service a monthly $32 collection fee as if they still have individual trash cans. And if you have a 3 yard bin then you must also have a 3 yard recycling bin also. And if the City has to take you large bins more than 25, 50, 75 or 100 feet to the street, that's an extra charge.
