I’ve had a vacancy for the past 3 days, last night I got a text at 12:30, asking to see the house. Since my phone goes silent at 11 pm, I didn’t see it until about 8:30 when I work up. My first reaction was to tag the text as a midnight texter, so that I would never respond to that number in the future. Now, had that been an email, it would have been fine. Am I too quick to judge? Eh. Depends on your set up. I used to get calls only and that would've made me mad. Then I moved into texts and emails mainly and it didn't bother me too much. I think the accepted etiquette nowadays is that it's okay to send a text whenever you want, knowing that it's an unobtrusive way to reach out and can be responded to at the other person's convenience. I think it’s rude and inconsiderate to text about an apt in the middle of the night like that. I would not respond to them. I also use a burner number app to manage rental inquiries - it’s soo much easier to manage all the inquiries in one place and not mix it with my personal stuff. --24.94.xx.xx
