What to do? I am so pissed off so forgive any grammatical errors. I recently bought my 17 yrs old daughter her first car all was while until yesterday afternoon while she was leaving our home. As she was moving along out of nowhere here come another vehicle and takes out her front end. I am amazed at the large number of drivers who have no insurance and a suspended license. Some of the people are folks I know. If I was driving around without insurance or a license I would be so nervous I would surely have an accident. --24.233.xxx.xx |

Take photos of the car in every angle imaginable, and submit all that info to the police, file a report. Then get a copy of the report and file all that info to your insurance company. They will go after the driver at fault. Luckily it wasn't hit and run. I assume you got their info.
It's a shame that people are not held accountable. If they're lawsuit proof due to lack of funds, they should be jailed. Some form of restitution should be paid. Or deportation if they're illegal. Why should only legal residents be held accountable?

Yep, as irritating as it is it is SOP for more folks than you realize.
My wife's car was totaled after an uninsured driver with a small child not in car seat took out a light pole on top of a concrete barricade on a bridge, the pole landed on wife's car and crushed the top in. She could have easily been killed, it hit just behind the front seat. Cops estimated her speed at 80 on a 45 MPH exit.
I followed up with the DA to find out what her penalty was. She paid $50 for unrestrained kid and $100 for failure to control vehicle. Meanwhile I paid $500 deductible and insurance paid over $12K for the car because I carried uninsured motorist coverage.
Makes you wonder why anyone with little or no assets has insurance. --50.26.xx.xxx |

Oh, that really stinks - your poor daughter must have been so shaken up.
Unfortunately, that's why we carry the top amount of insurance against uninsured/underinsured. At least the driver didn't hit and run (maybe he couldn't? They usually do). There might be a chance of a civil suit, if he or his guardians have assets. Check into that.

The last 3 people to run into me had no license or insurance. Guess who the drivers were ! I called police each time and after waiting hours for the police not to come we just left.
