Anyone here have tenants who use Paypal to pay their rent?
Pluses and minuses of this?
Thank you.

I've had a few. The last one just switched to Zelle.
Drawback to me vs. Zelle was I had to go physically transfer it to my bank. --50.82.xxx.xx |

I haven't but doesn't Paypal take a percentage of the money when you transfer it? I don't use any of them currently so maybe they all do or now they don't to "keep up". --69.201.xx.xxx |

They do not take percentage if transfer to family and friends. --97.91.xxx.xxx |

The pro is it works pretty easy but the con is they claw back out that easy and ask you to enter a dispute resolution that takes 3-16 weeks and this makes you scratch your bank account when the next rent is suspended.

I struck a deal with Paypal that a tenants "known" monthly rent can not be cancelled or the charges reversed. Then one day a tenants rent was put on a "hold" until they could decide what to do. My tenant claimed that I over charged and they had already paid the last months rent. The tenant only paid a First months rent and a Deposit. So until Paypal got some directions from the courts, my money (rent) was gone.... --47.156.xx.xx |
