Anyone experienced with PEX: If you don't mind, I have uploaded a photo of that spinning shut-off valve. Is that the type of connection that should be there / is it OK if it spins? (or do I need to get the plumber back?)

Thank you!

That's a crimp fitting. It is normal to be able to turn it after crimping, but there should be some resistance.

Use the Go/No Go gage that comes with the crimpers. It will tell the true story. --173.233.xxx.xx

Thanks, Gevans.

Sounds like I should have the plumber check it and show me that reading --68.10.xxx.x

As Vee said that's a crimp style connection that can be easily checked with a go / no go gauge. FYI you might consider upgrading your shutoffs from the multi turn style show in your picture to a quarter turn style. IMO they are much more reliable especially way down the road when you really need it to work. --96.237.xx.xx

DJ VA you don't need no stinkin plumber to use the go no go gauge. You went this far so finish it.

If the no go gauge won't slip over your crimp area -- it needs more crimping. Use the crimp tool until you can get the GO gauge over your sleeve. --99.103.xxx.xxx

Thanks for the vote of confidence in my abilities, myob. But, since I paid the guy to install it, he should probably come back & fix it.

However, it might be a handy tool to have - to check the work of others, if nothing else - since it's likely others do poor work often : ( --68.10.xxx.x

Looking at the picture of the white pipes coming thru the wall where no p-trap is connected to the wall arm I see the angle valve near the pail with the blue sponge, this valve is not pushed into the pipe, I would turn off that rider before it comes apart with water pressure creating a set room. Get that fixed quick.

The spell check in my tablet changed the word wet into set, a very wet room.

DJ, you might as well learn how to do it yourself. Watch YouTube. If you can play with legos, you can do Pex. --50.107.xxx.xx
