LOL! We discuss this a lot but today, after receiving several overnight inquiries about an apartment all with questions that are specifically answered in the ad, I wondered why I waste my time even writing an ad at all?
It has a bullet list (no paragraphs to confuse people who can't read them) a clear ad title and CAPITALS for emphasis on some things.
Maybe I should just put up the pictures with the link to my website/previewquestions and just be done with it...
If they were Zillow Clicks, I'd understand but they are not - they are "handwritten" emails from Craigslist and Facebook. AND I don't even post my email address, so they are using the CL forwarding feature. --50.82.xxx.xx |

It is an odd and frustrating phenomenon. In my mind, I equate trying to find a quality home with trying to find a quality job. Can you imagine responding to an employer’s call back by asking What’s the name of your company again? What position did I apply for? And then showing up for an interview, if you got one, looking like you just crawled out of a dumpster. It's a numbers game. All of my responses are canned cut and paste. Regardless of what they ask. They get this:
"Good news! 123 Anywhere Ave is now available. Please visit abcrentals website for more information or to arrange a tour. Thank you, S i d [MO]"
I send a copy of that message to their email address and text it via Google Voice. The website is spelled out in full, and in the email version the phrases "more information" and "arrange a tour" are hyperlinked to my website page and to the "Showing" pre-screening form respectively. All they have to do is click the link. Microsoft Word allows me to copy & paste hyperlinked text. Great time saver!
10 seconds per initial contact is my goal. The ones I want will persevere. The ones I don't will disappear!

Something similar here...i replied with information and in a few days i received an email explaing the delay in getting back to me ...they were busy moving as they found a place on XYZ website and i should check it out. jb/or that is what the preview questions are supposed to do: weed out the chaff. But if they never read or follow the ad instructions (listed at top and bottom of ad.) It's just puzzling.

I think with my ads I’m going the start putting a “ Q and A” section like Amazon does with their products. I can pre- answer every question about the apartment that they can think of.....even though the information is already listed in the ad. --71.10.xxx.xxx |
