State Specific Question About: CALIFORNIA (CA)
Please recommend insurance for rental property. Must change companies as my company requires personal residence and auto with extremely high auto rates.
Have property closing next week. Would like company that did 1 rental, and then within the month, I would change other rentals and probably auto and personal residence. Looking for 5 rentals max.
Thanks

I have had State Farm for houses, cars and jewelry for 45 years. They are not the cheapest but on the 5 claims I have had we had zero problems with our claims. I was rear ended by a 10 wheeler, 14,000 pound truck. His insurance was garbage so State Farm took care of me and went after the driver and their insurance.
A neighbor's tree root did $74,000 damage to my rental. Fortunately they had State Farm and they fixed the damage. --99.23.xxx.x |

I would recommend contacting an insurance agent that represents many carriers to shop around for some well priced policy's. Insurance is like a meal. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's average and at times it's tasteless. --47.156.xx.xx |

Yes. Seems like Jim likes State Farm and RR78 is very a tune to Jim's choice of insurance. Why not just add to same policy as your home and cars. Whats the thought on that? --99.203.xx.xxx |

Too expensive, and that is why I am asking. Also State Farm has limit where they cancel policy if not rented in certain amount of time. With nice rentals, I prefer to be particular, and don't like deadline when I must have rented. It was either 30 or 60 days, and agent asked for rental agreement before time up. --67.187.xxx.xx |

Bobbie, I have never been asked for rental agreements or pressured if vacant while getting ready to rent. --99.23.xxx.x |

Try Safeco or AAA (if they offer rental insurance in you area).
