State Specific Question About: MAINE (ME)
I would like your knowledgeable experience describing the specific security camera system that you found recommendable. I have a six unit house. I would ideally like it to have two cameras for front and back of the house viewing, plus allow real time viewing by tenants in their apartment units. I would also like to have remote wifi viewing from my cel phone. Retrievable video for identifying any bad perpetrator a must
Is there such a camera system that is a quality, and well rated one?
Thank you for your advice.

Do you have WiFi at this property to run a system? --99.203.xx.xx |

You really don't want to have tenants able to view the feeds. You can only have so many people viewing feeds at a time. If they leave it running, you may be blocked out. Also, you don't want them knowing what your surveillance limitations are. --108.69.xxx.xxx |

In my condo. There is a close circuit system. It had monitors in each unit. Each could view and buzz guess in building. Old school? --99.203.xx.xx |

Ditto on what Landlord ofthe Flies [TX] stated regarding tenants viewing. Having a bunch of connections to your camera or security system may slow things down.
Getting back to your question: There are many systems out there on the market that will do basically what you need. Some are very complex while others are not. Prices vary widely too. You get what you pay for. I cannot recommend a particular make or model since it seems like everyday a new system hits the market. Some of the low end cameras are rebranded crap of crap while others are of good quality. My system consists of 18 IP network cameras. The video of each camera is recorded and managed on a dedicated server using special software specifically for the job. All this is custom configured consisting of advanced capabilities. It isnot one of those complete systems out of the box from Costco.
Proper installtion is a must. If the cameras are too far away and/or mounted too high most likely identification of anyone recorded will be useless.

I like picking up the rebranded hikvison kits from New Egg. They are called LA view and our camera installer actually recommends getting the 4mp over the 8mp right now. We have several systems up and running and haven’t had the first problem. You can get four cameras (4mp poe) a NVR and pre made Cat5e cables for $280 if you catch a kit on sale. You just need to buy a purple hardrive from amazon ($120 for 4tb) The hardest part is running the wires and mounting the cameras. They have an app where you can watch your property live and play back several weeks worth of recordings for no monthly fee. I’m surprised more people don’t have security cameras installed now that they are so cheap and easy to install. --174.78.xxx.xx |
