I'm looking for the same thing...I hope someone has some good suggestions. I was using RingCentral for years but finally dumped them because they are too expensive.

I have some clients that used to use MyFax.com before they switched to our own service (which we just offer along with other VOIP services, so I can't sell directly to you, sorry).

In any case, MyFax worked well for them and was decent.

Their low-end plan is $10/month where you can send 100 pages and receive 200 pages (per month). And if you do the annual plan, they cut two months off the bill -- so you pay $100/year or $8.33/month.

I have not personally used them -- I've just seen clients use them that were fine with it until we offered them some better bundled services for additional things that they needed.

John,

I use MyFax now. $10 a month when I am not using it seems like a lot. I guess it is the cost of business. --50.194.xxx.xxx

We quit using land lines years ago. Our one remaining land line, bundled with our internet service, is 6.99/month. We have a fax machine/laser printer. We don't use it often, but when we need it, having a fax machine has been a huge convenience for both land lording tasks and other legal business. Sounds like that printer has paid for itself many times over. --98.146.xxx.xxx

Pamfax is the service we use. We don't need to send or receive faxes very often but when we do, having this service has been a life saver. Rates are reasonable. Service is reliable and high quality. --64.231.xxx.xxx

I use Nextiva I pay $29.00 a year. Had it awhile not sure what they charge now. You do not need a landline it’s all done over your internet. --73.166.xxx.xxx

I hate paying for this because the only time I ever send or receive faxes is checking someone's employment and rental references. Which is not often.

Nextiva sounds affordable, if they haven't jacked the prices way up. I'm going to check that out. Thanks. --72.188.xxx.xxx

I use MyFax.com. Have used them for over 10 years. Mostly just for receiving apps. But it's getting more difficult to find somewhere for a prospective tenant to fax. About the only place around here is the public library anymore.

Had a prospect turn me on to ScanBot. It's a free scanner app. She said most of the profs on campus are using it for students to turn in assignments. Just takes a picture of a page, converts to a PDF, does a little formatting & then you are able to email or fax it. Has worked well for the few who have tried using it. --104.128.xx.xxx

Indeed -- I wish faxing would just die.

I just have to deal with it for health/insurance related offices. SO much of their crap is still done via fax. It's ridiculous.

I have big dog apartment complexes ask me to fax the release when I'm screening a tenant. I explain that fax machines are "so 90s" and ask if they have an email address that I can send it to instead. They always do. --204.210.xxx.xxx

My printer can Fax, Scan, copy. I prefer to scan and send attach email. Never had a problem with employment checks or LL reference.

The teacher in me has a real strong document /CYB(A). Scanned document sent via email, I now have a copy, with date and time.
