Need to completely outfit a kitchen with new appliances. Mid-grade/stainless. Need fridge, electric range, dishwasher. Any suggestions on where to shop for best deals? I usually just go to Lowes or Home Depot but I noticed Costco & Sams Club have them as well as well as Wayfair. --71.210.xx.xxx

You might try Facebook Market Place. Not new but sometimes you can get a deal on some gently used appliances because Mama wants the latest bells and whistles depending on what type of area your rental is in. --174.233.xxx.xx

Just don't get Frigidaire Model # FFTR1814TW refrigerator. Failed after 18 months. Repair guy says it is more expensive to fix than to throw away and buy new. --65.188.xxx.xxx

Sears is in chapter 11, but Kenmore unit will be probably sold as a brand and continue.

I buy them at Lowe's b/c: it's the closest to me, they stock a lot of appliances, they sell dented (sometimes hidden dents).

At Home Depot most everything is special order. They keep a minimal stock.

Best Buy - Not my top choice.

Online outlets? can you wait days and weeks for a washing machine?

We also have LL outlets, but they are sometimes higher.

What brands to buy? Whirlpool has close to 30 of the most common and famous brands we grew up with. As much as I don't particularly like them, I'd choose them over the Korean imports.

Lastly, I shop at Costco, but their appliances are expensive. I don't know why. --99.59.x.xxx

remember the old saying

" let your fingers do the walking". - Phone books are obsolete but web surfing is the only way to buy.

Your question might be better asking landlords about what brands they trust --24.34.xx.xxx

I have been scouring the web and I'm really surprised how few choices there really are. That's why I was asking where other people shop.

I typically go to Lowes. I look at the scratch and dent aisle every time I go. Most of the time, you can get a pretty good price and whatever the problem is really isn't one (at least to me). The dent is hidden or it's just a floor model they're getting rid of. As far as brands, I'm not fond of Samsung or LG. My appliance guy has explained they have nice bells and whistles on them, but they don't release parts to the general public. Therefore, parts are more expensive and repair is too as a result.

I wouldn't buy anything from Sears. The Kenmore name will probably live on, but they are going bankrupt for a reason. My opinion of their customer service will cause this post to get held up by the scanner. Washer had issues and they sent someone out 6 times to repair (extended warranty purchased). They would not replace. Finally gave up as that was 6 days off work since they will only give you a 4 hours window of when they will be there. Very similar experience with a fridge. Never again. --98.175.xxx.xxx

The Kenmore name will likely continue to be carried by the Hometown Sears stores.

The Sears corporate stores, the ones that were in malls and sold clothes, optical, photo studio, etc, are the ones closing.

Hometown Sears is actually a different company, and has about 1000 independently operated stores that do appliances, mowers, etc. Some do tires and batteries as well. They won’t be going anywhere.

The nice thing about buying GE and Whirlpool instead of LG or Samsung is that you can get parts and DIY when you need to. I’ve been buying parts from an online appliance parts place for good prices. They have videos for repairs. --64.251.xxx.xxx

I own / manage 156 appliances (ha ha). Learned a long time ago that no matter what the warranty says, the appliance will die 1 day later. Located a major re seller of appliances; the company buys all the scratch and dents, etc. CRS Appliances in Fort Lauderdale sells mid range fridges, ovens, washers, dryers for +/- 225.00 each and warranties for 6 months minimum. The higher end stuff is equally priced (65% lower than retail).

When I ran property management in Mpls, MN … similar company / biz concept.

I suggest you stare at Craigs List, Google, Investor club searches in your area … good luck!! --107.202.xxx.xxx
