Okay so I'm trying not to do trendy and I also really like the ability to pick up the materials in store at Home Depot in stock waiting.

However today I had a conversation with an associate at the store. I was informed gray is the way to go. People don't like the cherry or the oak flooring. I personally see it as a fad and am a bigger fan of cherry Allure. I'm trying to make sure that I don't spend a lot of money on flooring that people no longer like. I also don't want to spend a ton of money on flooring that is going to go out of style in a year or two and have to be replaced. Rental prices are between 700 and 1000 a month. I'm dealing with early 1900 homes. Which styles are you going with? Also I'm doing the Repose Gray thanks to Brad and and antique white. Lower-end places sometimes only have the antique white to save a little bit of money on time --74.141.xx.xx

I went with Country Pine, not because I liked the color particularly, but because the pattern was busy, and would be less likely to show wear. The color itself was a nice middle-of-the-road color, not too light, not too dark, not too taste-specific.

Cherry Allure is a lovely color. It's a classic color. --96.46.xxx.xx

A few people on here have complained about the Allure regarding spilled liquids. Cherry will clash with almost everyone's furniture. Grey is depressing to me. I paint all my units Cameo or Antique white and my carpeting is lighter brown tones. Dirty gray looks worse than clean gray. How bad looking is the oak graining? --73.178.xxx.xx

I wouldn't take the wrd of a Home Depot employee for something like that.I would not ever replace it in a $700-$1000 month rental just because it goes out of style.I buy whatever color is the cheapest the day I am there getting it for the rentals, for flips my wife picks the color --72.231.xxx.xxx

I LOVE the Cherry Allure color. I have it in my office. It's a PITA to clean. It's too textured & grooved. It was the first & last time I used it on anything. But that was 10 years ago. They may have changed the "pattern" of the planks.

The lighter oak colors didn't trip my trigger. It's too yellow for me.

When we were using Allure we used Teak. A nice mid-range brown color. Looked great with the tan color we rolled walls with. But our local HD quit carrying as a stock color. Would look just as good I think with the greige color I've now switched walls to.

We just finished a rehab with my new greige color on the walls with Shadow Hickory LifeProof. It's a gray-ish brown color. Liked the color a lot.

I'm not a gray fan. And everything you read will lead you to believe it's on it's way out as the trend. I just noticed in HD the other day they had their brochures out for the 2019 trending colors & there weren't a lot of grays. And at least locally you can't find a lot of flooring options that aren't gray at HD. --104.128.xx.xxx

I always go for the oak figuring it mimics real wood floors which are timeless. Grey and cherry look nice, but don't always go with the tenants furniture and in time may look dated when the trend changes, but the natural "look" will always work. --184.102.xxx.xxx

Gray in flooring is definitely a trend. Expect that to change. Home Depot has it as the in stock colors because that is what is still selling well. But I expect that will change.

I love the cherry allure, too. A deep, rich color. The teak I donít care for. To me it is flat and lifeless. --68.238.xx.xxx

About the grip strip going away: I sensed that also. The grip strip display at my local HDs keeps getting smaller and smaller, the selection less and less. --174.21.xxx.xxx
