Fall is coming, mice will be seeking warm crawl spaces or basements. Add decon mice poison now to prevent this critters from going up into the house. I add this to both my houses, the never go up into the house but outside to die.

I would never put that stuff outside as it will kill wildlife, neighbor cats, neighbor dogs. --73.178.xxx.xx

Trap them. Then immediately remove the dead mice.

If you scatter poison, they will die under the house in hard to reach places, and it will stink for a long time. --99.59.x.xxx

There are professional bait stations that look like wedges that have holes that rats and mice can get in, but not larger animals. Guessing squirrels too, but oh well. Those stations contain poison that drives mice to water.

I recommend doing this, but a better preventative tip is to dam up all the openings in your house that are large enough for a rat or mouse to get into your house. Anything you can squeeze your pinky in is large enough. Use metal flashing or thick steel wool to stop it up. I've seen mice crawl up a rock wall so make sure all areas on roof are stopped up too. You should also put cages over all attic vents and a screen inside the whirlybirds. Keep in mind, once it gets cold, you need to survey your house for new holes. They can chew through anything. Install metal flashing over the new holes. Had one bore through my soffit last winter.

You should also keep baited traps in the attic and check them monthly as preventative, and a test to see if you have mice.

Be sure to set a trap in the garage. I had one eat car wiring harness once. Evil rat. --108.69.xxx.xxx
