Here I go again, complaining about Lowes stuff, but I looked it up in my old resident folders, it was 05/2012 we replaced faucet with a Moen.
Current tenant called & wanted to let my hubby listen over the phone at the "noise it makes when you turn it on". He told her he probably couldn't hear well enough to do that. So he'll go tomorrow & check it out. It was a vibrating sound she said. What are some causes? This is a private water well (24" bored).

Have him look up how to take out the diverter and clean it. Even better if he takes a new diverter with him.
Should be a simple fix. --73.152.xx.xxx |

You may need to add a air cushion pipe to suppress action of the pump, use a straight 3/4 inch pipe going to the ceiling with a cap - this air filled pipe get some water in it but is always floating up/down as the pressure changes using water. --76.188.xxx.xx |

Pat,
Grit in the faucet or shut off valve? Torn or lose O ring at the cartridge?
We've installed a gazillion Pfister valves with NEVER a call back or drip. None.

Plenty: The reasons your faucets last forever is the same reason I never get mold in my bathroom, despite never running the bathroom fan. --64.89.xxx.xxx |

Described at vibrating, I would say it is water hammering, but that usually happens when you shut the water off, unless it is flowing somewhere else and are diverting it when it is turned on.
Well water in our area is usually hard water with minerals in it. Those minerals accumulate little by little in the valves and screens etc. Clean or replace them.

More info provided today. Now she says it has a pin hole leak in the sprayer hose & it stops when she applied electrical tape around hose. (good news) But it is leaking around the electrical tape. (bad news)
Have to determine which way to go. Trip to college town. --71.219.xx.xx |

Most name brand faucets replacement parts are easy to get where parts can ordered directly from Moen. Unless the parts for faucet exceed the cost of a new faucet. New Moen faucets use a ceramic cartridge which is better then the older type of cartridge. --147.194.xxx.xx |
