When camera shopping, get a DSLR that accepts a wide angle lens. Most of the RE photography in my area has gone to the wide angle lenses. This makes rooms look huge in photographs. While you know it is a misrepresentation, you do not want your ads looking poor in comparison.

I have a Cannon that I bought used off of Facebook. $25 wide angle lens from Amazon. You can also get wide angle lenses for Iphones. --64.89.xxx.xxx

This reminds me of a house I went to look at once. From the picture it appeared to have a very long driveway and sat well back from the street. When the agent and I got there it was just a very short/average drive. She said, "Well that is a deceptive picture." But it was quite amazing the difference an angle lens can make. --24.20.xxx.xxx

I just have a little point and shoot that works well for me. It's just under $300 and has a fairly wide shot capability and an amazing zoom capability. It can do 12 MP but I leave it set at 5 MP which is plenty for me.

I went to our local camera store and bought a Nikon D60 for ourselves for Christmas of 2008. A DSLR class would be helpful to take advantage of the features-- I used to be competent with a 35mm film camera-- but nearly 10 years later, I'm still getting good mileage out of it. The only time it has trouble is when you're in automatic mode, and it gets confused when you ask it to focus on a particular spot of white wall.

I'm sure the current DSLR's have come a long way since then.

Go to your local camera store-- like, the kind that sells darkroom supplies-- and see what they steer you towards. Buy yourself something decent that you'll be happy to keep for the next 20 or 30 years. :) --96.46.xxx.xx

Deanna,

What is this thing you say? A CAMERA store?

Steph,

Widest angle you can find and a flash.

I use my iPhone 6 with a MOMENT brand wide angle lens from Amazon. If I need a flash I pop off the lens for that shot.

My nice camera has DATE STAMP and I use the flash on EVERY pic.

Quality photos are worth their weight in gold when repairs are challenged. Don't bother with cheap cameras.

Lawd I've got a box full of digital cameras that I don't use any more. Simply because my iPhone with a wide angle lens from Amazon takes way better pics than anything I had to date. But I'm in a market that most ads don't even have pics. Makes me look like an award winning photographer compared to that......which couldn't be farther from the truth. --104.128.xx.xxx

I suggest shopping for a model that uses normal batteries, the square ones take awhile to recharge and walking in to a walgreens or auto parts store for a 4 pack of aa batteries is so much easier. --76.188.xxx.xx
