Well it finally happened to me. Dead tenant. OD'd over the weekend. Worst part is she was pregnant. We had already filed eviction and have court next week.

called the attorney handling the case to see if this complicates anything. Baby daddy is still there, as far as we know. He said full steam ahead. Sad situation and I am sure I will get my fair share of comments on being heartless. Bottom line is I have to run my business and can't afford to let this slide.

Go to court like the attorney said, you still have to get the drug addict boyfriend out of your unit.Dont volunteer any info to the judge,if no one asks about her being dead don't offer, that will just add complication to the hearing --72.231.xxx.xxx

I guess the good part is the baby daddy is still there, so he can deal with the aftermath of someone passing instead of you. I once evicted a pregnant gal at 8 1/2 months pregnant. Of course, I didn't know she was pregnant until after she was out. She was a bit of a bigger gal to start with. Even if I would have known, I would have still proceeded.

Not paying rent and physically tearing the place up couldn't be handled anymore. The roaches were only adding to the problem and it was multi-unit building. Time to go. I don't know. Maybe I'm heartless too. It just comes down to the fact that I run a for profit company and I need to treat it as such. Bills still come in to me and I need to pay them somehow. --98.175.xxx.xxx

The world is full of rules and regulations. People know what they are and have to work with them. When they don't, bad things happen. It's on them, not you. Some people are just too fragile to deal with our world and so they leave. She will have her baby with her on the Other Side. --73.178.xxx.xx

Robert,

Tragic What a waste. 2 lives from one hit.

It's happening all around my area. From 7 a year to 24 drug deaths last year. A former helper recently od'ed. Had been clean 2 years. Slipped one time. The fentynal in his hit killed him.

No it's not cold of you. THEY decided to not pay you and to not move out and to force you to hire an atty. They could have cooperated and just left.

I had an eviction where the husband was sliced in half in a horrible car accident on the way home from court. I gave them an extra week as a courtesy. Then her atty came up with every delay in the book, they trashed the house, came up with every reason not to pay what she owed...cost ME tons of time and atty fees.

We are kind and friendly while we stick to the program.

BRAD
