FYI: The House has passed Bill No. 581 which eliminates the requirement that landlords keep security deposits in trust accounts. It now goes to the Senate. Fox 2 News says the Senate has passed earlier bills that are similar. --144.191.xxx.xx |

Any time regulations are removed I'm happy, so I hope this goes thru. That said, I've already got sec deps set up in a separate account. Per my attorney, it doesn't have to be a formal "trust" account, but can be a dedicated savings account maintained by a bank. I have a savings account called "ABC Properties Security Deposits." The only money that goes in or comes out are tenant security deposits. --173.19.x.xxx |

Thanks for the advice.
When I set up all those accounts per #22 advice (thanks #22) I opened a savings account but have transfered all money out of it and it is sitting empty.
Think I will see about using it for deposits.
