We are selling our house in Florida and moving to a condo nearby. I need new flooring throughout, and want to use a waterproof vinyl click flooring on cement. I'd put down Allure, but I can't kneel after two knee replacements. So someone else will do this.
We'll be taking up old tile in several areas, and running this through the whole house.
I'm looking for a good brand, that will last, and hopefully not respond to an occasional pee on a rug, by one of our dachshunds. Also we had a lot of slider leaks in Florida after the hurricane. I know it might need to come up and dry everything out, underneath, but the people who put down good quality laminate with wood, had to have work done around their sliders. There was a line waiting for service.
My husband also has me on a tight budget, or divorce. Funny, we just did a home for our daughter and son in law to rent and the budget was much higher....

We're using Dream Home. It's 12MM V-Groove with (1/8") pre-glued attached underlayment. We also put down an underlayment even though it has one attached. It has a 50 year warranty. Much better looking than Allure.
Lumber Liquidators. Comes in numerous finishes. --71.75.xx.xx

I did some poking around on the Dream Home stuff, and unfortunately it is laminate, not vinyl. For a personal residence, laminate is probably ok, but since you said you wanted waterproof vinyl, the only brand I know of and can recommend from personal use is Allure. Easy to show someone how to do it and have it done for you. --173.19.x.xxx

I haven't seen the floor yet without carpeting. We have to take jack some tile, too. I love the idea of Allure, but have concerns about getting floor perfectly smooth. I could scoot on my butt and install it! --155.52.xxx.xx

Have you looked at the newer Lifeproof tile flooring they are advertising on the HD site? It looks like it might be really perfect for your situation. --131.151.xx.xx

Lifeproof at Home Depot
Lumber Liquidators: 7mm or better Luxury Click Vinyl Flooring.
DO NOT waste your money on Dream Home 12mm v groove laminate.
Go to your local Lumber Liquidators and ask them their 3 top selling floorings. I guarantee you they will NOT show you any laminate. Of course NEVER carpet.
They will show you the luxury click vinyl floors. PLUS the waterproof luxury click vinyl will look great in the bathrooms and kitchen and laundry area with potential water risk issues. Take samples the top 3 samples to the home and see what looks good in the home. See how the samples look with the kitchen cabinets/countertop, in the bathrooms and bedrooms.
IF in the future there are any leaks from the dishwasher, toilet sully line or overflow, water heaters, water supply lines to the fridge, or other leaks the floor will not be damaged.
Plus pass the paperwork onto the new owner for them to register the floor warranty.
The same flooring throughout will be stunning in the home.
Best of Success with selling the home.

Tom, You are assuming there IS a kitchen! It's pretty much a gut, I think we can save one tub.
But it's not a high price property, in a nice complex. It's a bit of a hidden gem.
Condo is on the top floor, end unit, and has a Creek view. And has a couple more windows making it brighter than the middle units.
And I love that creek.
I had ordered samples from Lumber Liquidator last night!

Anything that kliks together must be perfectly smooth first or it unkliks as furniture moves around, nobody wants to see that happen now or 2 weeks after the sale, many of the flaws with laminate will turn you around and back to Aluure. --76.188.xxx.xx

If this is on slab take a look at glue-down plank options. Here I can get material & labor for glue-down a lot less than the floating vinyl. --166.137.xxx.xx

I recently installed Lifeproof LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) in my personal office and love it. It can only be purchased at Home Depot. The rules said not to post links, but search on Lifeproof flooring installation and watch the Home Depot video.
A word of caution....there are a few "subtypes" of this flooring. Get the kind that has a rigid backing...it has a rubberized material that eliminates noise/squeaking and adds rigidity to allow for any minor surface imperfections. Typically this subtype is about 6mm thick...don't get the 4mm version! Also they make a floating type (which I used), and another type you can adhere to the subfloor.
Cost is reasonable at about $4 per square foot. The other nice feature is that the planks are relatively wide...more than 8" I think...so it goes down fast. Trim complex areas with jig saw.
I use Allure in my lower-end "B" houses...but I will be using Lifeproof in my higher end "B" houses as I think it's more durable and looks better. --99.92.xxx.xxx

Which is better in a wet environment, laminate flooring or LVT? Both are equally good. All flooring can and will be damaged by water to some extent.
Which stands up to everyday accidents, scratches and dropped objects better? Laminate flooring because it’s made harder and tougher. While laminate flooring and LVT flooring are both good flooring solutions, we believe that laminate flooring has many more advantages than LVT for today’s home.
Which is the “greener” flooring choice? Laminate flooring is greener by far because the materials that go into them make the difference. Laminate flooring is primarily made from wood byproducts — a natural, renewable resource. LVT is made primarily from petrochemicals and chlorides, some of the most toxic substances around, not to mention the adhesives. --71.75.xx.xx
