We had a hot water line break in our crawl space and caused a lot of damage. I'm looking to place a water leak detector in the crawl space so that we can be alerted before it wreaks havoc.
I'm looking at the Honeywell Lyric Wi-Fi water leak and freeze detector. Is anyone familiar with this or have another one to recommend?

Why not fix the leak and the other pipe with PEX and then you will know if it freezes you will have to add heat tape and melt the frozen part with a space heater or torpedo heater, the addition of a warning system will tell you to do the previous sentence anyway. --76.188.xxx.xx |

The leak was fixed the day it was discovered. We have mostly copper pipes and it was replaced with copper.
I am not concerned about frozen pipes. The Honeywell leak detector I was inquiring about has received excellent reviews for leak detection. The fact that it also detects frozen pipes is inconsequential. Since we rarely have reason to in the crawl space I just want an effective means of knowing about a leak as soon as it happens so we can mitigate the damage. --71.75.xx.xx |
