Sir John, here in New Haven Connecticut,I used to have s good rapport with the local Auto glass company, they dealt with a manufacturing outfit in Illinois or Indiana, and their product and prices were good, check your local auto glass company in your area, who knows

In 2017 I installed reliabilt 3500 series windows from Lowes which I was happier with than the United windows from Lowes. The United windows were more money. The reliabilt seemed better made. When it comes to vinyl windows I am disillusioned; they all wind up failing in my opinion. Ace Hardware by me carries overlapping grades of reliabilt windows (different names than Lowes) and many LLs near me install them. Don't remember exactly where the better window kicks in but it has stouter spring/ rods.
Assume you are looking for vinyl as aluminum clad is more expensive. Also matters if you are installing them yourself or looking for an installed company window. --24.194.xx.xx |

For a rental I use windows from Lowe's (Pela) or HD (Jeld Wen). They meet code and inexpensive. I still choose aluminum over vinyl. --99.59.x.xxx |

As you can see this will be a local decision, while shopping be sure to compare same products, it is easy to compare apples to fish and get more confused when you are just getting started. --76.188.xxx.xx |

Window world. They handle RRP and have a lifetime warranty against breakage.
As long as they aren't moving furniture, they can do a whole house in 3-4 hours. --174.234.xxx.xxx |

one other consideration is what U factor your municipality requires to meet code. By me it is .28 If you are doing larger picture windows this is difficult to achieve (ie. expensive). --24.194.xx.xx |

Miss Ally, they also have a very high pressure advertising campaign on TV.Perhaps that is why the prices are up there.Nothing wrong with John Dos window either.........................cj............................. --174.199.x.xx |
