Hi guys! Well I finally got rid of the worst tenants I ever had. I went to inspect the apartment and found that they had installed a large battery pack by Verizon without my consent. I called Verizon Fios to complain that they (Fios) never got authorization from me the landlord and their response is that because I have had Verizon installed in my unit (many years ago) that gives them the ok to put it in my tenants apt without consent. Sounds like Facebook! I have made a complaint to the Board of Utilities. I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar situation? Thank you very much. Everyone here is always so helpful. --72.90.xxx.xx

I found that the PHONE COMPANY, the CABLE COMPANY and a SATELLITE PROVIDER put their wires thru the screen mesh of the only access door to under my building. SO when I want to enter into the crawl space, the access door only opens 50% and I can't get my equipment under the building to work.

So I contacted the Phone company, Cable company and Several Satellite Providers and asked them to move their cable from going through the access door screen mesh thru holds drilled in the stucco for that purpose.

They all laughed at me and did nothing. I then filled a report with the Police Department, the FCC, the Public Utility Commission and the City Housing Department.

I then gave my tenants 5 days notice that they were going to loose their phone service, Cable service and Satellite service because they wired were blocking my access to under this apartment building. I had leaking pipes, sewer issues and foundation problems that needed to be fixed. I'm a licensed contractor.

So on the date and time I indicated, I cut those wires so I could gain access. I also put a sign above the access door telling any repair person to use the holes in the stucco, not the access door for running new wires.

Within three days those company's fixed the wire and again ran the wires through the access door. SO I cut them again. The cable and phone companies filed a police report that I vandalized their equipment.

The police were out for my blood, that's until I gave them my letters, tapes of my phone conversations with those companies (I had told them I was recording the conversations). So I then had proof that I did try to get them to re-wire but they refused. I had no action except to cut and remove the wires to access my property for repairs.

This then happened two more times that the phone company and or cable company planted a equipment box for many units right in the way of my access to crawl under a building to work on it. So after giving them notice, I just cut the wires and left a note, "hey don't block my path or I will cut your wires again. You put them there without the owners permission". --47.156.xx.xx

I'm also getting sick and tired of wires all over our SFH's and dishes mounted on roofs and in front yards.

We now have a policy on every flip (rerent) to remove all wires and dishes and chuck them. Wish I could join a class action law suit on what these installers are doing to roofs (leaking) and siding running 3-4-5 cables all over each other. --99.103.xxx.xxx

April, I should send a fellow landlady over to tackle your Verizon people. Her mild-mannered husband was patiently trying to get the Fios installation completed on some apartments they were remodelling. Weeks went by as he got the runaround from several offices in several states, and move-in dates were fast approaching. Mrs. Landlandy stopped a Verizon truck on the street and gave him an earful - I don't know what she said, but the regional manager was on their rentals' doorstep the next morning, and the job was completed within the week.

The big companies neither know nor care - and the subcontractors that they let do the installations are clueless. --71.175.xxx.xx
