So i'm rehabbing a unit on the 2nd floor,..big apt,
rt over this unit is a older woman with her daughter and that daughter has a little girl, I'm guessing 4 years old. She runs constantly back and for in every room.I have never heard so much noise. This goes on for hours, I think she must be hyperactive. She sounds like a baby elephant! Also sounds like she or someone knock heavy things over.
With this noise "I" wouldn't live there. The other guys working in this unit have said the same thing.
I know you have to be careful with any reference to children. Any suggestions?
I'm sorry I put in Allure in this unit. I doubt that throw rugs will quiet this little elephant. AND it would take a lot of rugs in this 2700 square foot apt.
I would like to tell mother and Grandmother that she should use one of the rooms as a play room and teach the little brontosaurus to walk instead of run in the rest of the apartment ,but wonder how practical or legal for me to ask that. --96.236.xxx.xxx |

Mark, I had the same thing with the Woman of the house, sounded like an Elephant, then I got thinking, elephants don't make near as much noise. She made the same noise coming down the stairs,no problem on the going up.I ended up putting a drop ceiling in the unit below.Best money we ever spent.may work for you too.........charlie............................ --174.199.x.xxx |

I would invite one of the upstairs ladies down to hear what you are speaking of. They need to experience the noise to understand. If it didn't stop then i would not renew their lease. That's not being a considered neighbor. They will cost you turn over after turn over. --99.203.xx.xx |

Not sure you can do anything about the kid, really. 4 year olds run a lot, they are active (hopefully) and tend not to use their "inside" voices unless constantly reminded.
I agree, invite the mom or grandmother down and let them have a listen and ask for suggestions. Nicely - their child is not an elephant or a demon, just a possibly out-of-control kid. They have no idea what noise is transferred downstairs, I bet. --108.4.x.xxx |
