I love animals (well not cats so much). But, dogs all day. As long as they are nice...like my pup. Anyway, I have noticed an uptick in request for emotional support animals. I am not well versed and so to learn more I went to the holy grail of knowledge.....and googled it. However, I did not see much concerning the landlords right to refuse these animals. Seems people can get these letters online and have a pet for free! I think the rules are a bunch of crock. So eventually they will tell me I have to let smokers in the home because cigarettes are emotionally supportive. --73.58.xxx.xx

Indeed -- we all tend to agree that ESAs are abused by people to get their pets in. It is indeed a problem.

As others said, we just had this come up recently. See this thread for a recent discussion (like, from today even!) including what you can ask for as far as documentation goes (mainly see what Barb wrote -- she tends to be most accurate on these things).

D, we had three Samoyed's,don't know if they we're Emotional Support animals or not, but by having them, you did meet a lot of people ,from doctors to professors to Senators, the dogs didn't care who they approached.if you have someone with such an animal, make sure it has it's shots and has licence tags from your local town or village, more Important having their shots ,in case they bit someone.your insurance company dictates what animal someone can have,so it may be out of your hands..........charlie..............................................completely............... --174.199.xx.xxx
