My 2BR/2BA condo, all utilities included only charge $1525, and market price is $1700 to $1750, so new lease I try to rise up $50 monthly.
tenant asked how much condo fee ,home owner association and property tax detail ? I said I never share my business detail with tenant.
If you don't like new price, just move out.
What you think this case?

If HOA fees and taxes are included with rent, no need for them to know, just my opinion --174.209.xx.xxx |

While it's tempting to snap back and ask "What; are you trying to buy the place?" the legal answer is that you are not obligated to provide this information to them.

I totally agree it is none of their business. I've never has a tenant ask that and I have several TH with HOA fees.
I know that in VA it is becoming fairly common for LL's requiring the tenants pay the HOA fees since it includes the utilities and pool and gym access. --71.75.xx.xx |

They are just thinking about buying and want to compare what their payment would be renting vs buying.
Let them do their own leg work and find out. --73.152.xx.xxx |

When I first started LL'ing I had a few applicants ask to see mortgage docs. It was kind of annoying and I didn't provide them, but they were concerned that the house was going into foreclosure so I understand where they were coming from. --72.188.xxx.xx |

With your unit being below market, they could have thought they would be responsible. I would just smile and say those fees are calculated into the rent amount. --68.107.xxx.x |

All of you are wrong, just a cheap gay for asking not to rise up $50 of rent.
I want to rise up $50 for next lease, He try to get those information , then say should not rise up $50. he wanted detail and try to bargain the rent price. All of you are right. it is none of his business.
I just worry about some landlord law allow tenant to know the reason why to rise up rent?
Any experience about it? --108.51.xxx.xx |

There is NO LAW requiring you to explain your reason for increasing this rent by $50 a month.

If you are indeed below market and asking for a small raise, you really should be giving them a rentometer report showing them that they are STILL getting a good deal

While the amount of these expenses is none of their business, saying “it’s none of your business” usually harms a relationship. Personally, I would tell them the numbers to end the conversation.

Sadly when you do the increase from each service provider it will likely go over 100bux, don't forget the administration costs to calculate the increase. --76.188.xxx.xx |

I put a clause in my condo lease that if the condo association raises the monthly fee their rent would also increase by same amount .. They live there they use the services provided... Water, sewer, trash, yard, snow removal. I am not addressing special assessments. --99.203.xx.xxx |
