Who do you use for your web site hosting? Who did your web site design? Thanks --174.199.xx.xxx

Weebly.com. I designed and maintain it myself. I'm not a Pro by a long-shot, but it does the job and I get quite a bit of traffic. If you find a site you like, it's easy to copy and modify to taste.

$9/month for domain registration, hosting, and basic design package. --173.17.xx.xx

We use namecheap for domain and webhosting. A friend uses dreamhost which he really likes. I think weebly is fine, but their tech support was harsh when I had to switch the contact person to my own when the other person quit the company. wix is also an option, but its prices seem higher than namecheap.

My boss designs the website and hires graphic artists. I code the html part. Both weebly and wix have nice diy website tools to avoid the coding.

Best of luck.

when digging into a web site one of the most frequent cautions was to NOT have the domain name host the same as the web host.

We used Hostgator & Wix. There was a learning curve with wix that we powered thru as there was a deadline issue. now if I need to change & find someplace else to host it I can do so with little concern or issue. --74.105.xxx.xxx

Back in the 90's, I used to run a Geocities website that was popular for my particular niche. But then the free webhosts decided they weren't making money the way they liked, and they started changing rules/disappearing/going to a paid model/whatever. About the fourth or fifth time I had to re-upload my website to an entirely new address, I decided to just buy a domain and be done with it! :P A bunch of my friends used a webhost called Endore. So I signed up with them, too. About six months later, Endore vanished without a trace. Me, I was only out a little bit of money and the annoyance of having to find a new webhost for my files, but my friends who relied upon them for their domain registration and their webhosting needs... they were out of luck, because there was no way to get their domain names reassigned to them, rather than to Endore.

Ever since then, I've been one of those people who definitely cautions people to keep their webhost and domain registrar separate.

Now, I buy my domains directly through GoDaddy. I had a package from Yupapa that I bought back in 2004, which came with space for 8 domains and 240 Megs, and goes for about $6/month. So when I wanted to make a new website for the biz, I just bought a new domain name, and threw it onto the hosting package I already had extra space I wasn't using. I don't think Yupapa offers that package anymore, and I'm not smart enough to use it to its full extent (I've never been techy enough to get the 8 email accounts to work), but I'm grandfathered in...

When I was shopping for a new webhost, I went to the Webhostingtalk forum, and just kind of watched webhosters in their natural territory. I looked to see not only who had a good price, but who sounded knowledgeable and had a good, helpful attitude. --96.46.xxx.xx

I use GoDaddy for everything and have for years. The support is beyond great and pricing is competitive. I believe in 1 stop shopping.

Had the site done professionally. --71.75.xx.xx

I use weebly, too. Switched over from godaddy. Weebly is cheap, and very user friendly. Easy drag and drop design requires no knowledge of computer programming. I think it is high-quality/professional looking. --68.105.xxx.xxx
