Debt Collection issues aside, do you prefer to put a couple names on the lease? does this also help during evictions if you perhaps are not able to serve notice to one tenant, you can simply serve notice to the other that is also on the lease? --50.247.xxx.xx |

I require anyone who is 18 or over to sign the lease as Lessee jointly and severally liable. --166.137.xxx.xx |

In CA, serving a NOTICE on anyone in the household constitutes service on anyone else in the household to whom the notice is addressed.
For service of a summons and complaint however, each defendant must be individually served regardless of what the lease may say.

All occupants over 18 not currently enrolled full time in school must be on the lease as joint and several. And, in NC, an eviction applies to everyone named on the filing and also must be served individually by the sheriff.
We can exclude someone by not including their name when filing but that creates an entirely different mess. --71.75.xx.xx |
