Is inpersonating a business unlawful. Is it an offense. I just received a call from hud. But, it wasn't from them. I am invicting a section 8 tenant. They had this person call to manipulate me. Try to tell me what I can and cant do. Called section 8 and no ine by that name and number not hud. They must be stupid.

It is illegal to impersonate a law enforcement officer and attorney. I'm sure there are other areas but those are the two that come to mind.

In your instance it is simply stupidity. And even if it is an offence how do you plan to prove who the impersonator is?

When I get calls regarding any tenant I tell th caller I can not discuss any matter without prior written permission from the tenant. --71.75.xx.xx

I've had an inspector from one department impersonate themselves as an official from another department. Got it on video tape and the City Attorney declined to prosecute.

Just curious. Just to show how far a tenant will go to try to pull the wool over your eyes. I told the person that they are getting evicted and the 5 day notice is warning them to leave on their own and they will get an eviction if they don't move. And section 8 doesn't like if you are evicted. Eviction tomorrow if not gone. --70.171.xxx.xxx

Does it fall under section 912 Title 18? I am calling section 8 tomorrow to report that the tenant was responsible for this call from a person impersonating hud. Told me I can't put a 24 hour inspection and go in the apartment, I can't put a 5 day notice, can't show the apartment. Told me i should have done it earlier because it would be 30 days from when I do it. Could be on the 28th according to what they said Friday, but was hoping a few days earlier

Everything is in my lease.going to do the eviction tomorrow, closed today.this might section 8 work with me to get in this other tenant I want. Don't know how much trouble it would cause the tenant, but seems to me that section 8 is not going to be happy with that manipulating scheme they were trying to fool a landlord. Excellent Barb of LA, focus on the non payment of rent. And don't get into the tenant drama that they want to pull you into. GOSH If you are in LA of CA then you need some extremely good luck to work around the LL tenant laws in CA. However if you are in the state of LA then most likely you will do ok with evicting this deadbeat.

I need to explain further. They pay, but are late. I put a violation on him because he gets intoxicated. He told anither tenant that he is owner of the building, has keys, cuts grass, and does the work in the building. He was drunk, couldn't walk a straight line, and using vulgar language and talking loud. The tenant is new and she asked my husband if that man has the key. It was the last straw for him. Did you think i should get a notorized statement from her. They are gonna show up and tell the judge they don't have anywhere to go and want to stay. I put a violation and also no rent. But probably she will say you wants to pay. No way. And also section 8 cut us off for March. I want hime gone. Any opinions on what the judge will say? --70.171.xxx.xxx

The main reason in court is non payment of rent. But, I want to get him out. Liability reasons and disturbing the other tenants. He is an alcoholic. He gets drunk everyday. And can't do anything about that. Will let everyone know the outcome Tuesday.

She brought up about that she was gonna pay and my husband said ok. She didn't pay that Saturday and I put the vacant paper on the door Monday. We wanted him out because of his actions throughout the 4 years. Took that opportunity to get them out. I am relieved and will get a better tenant and raise the rent. Which I didn't in the 4 years because they were late alot. But enough is enough and the last straw he pulled on his actions. --70.171.xxx.xxx

Yeah, it's been a busy time with also purchasing two more rentals within 3.5 years and having some problems. My husband thinks different then me. He is too patient and lenient. He said I take it personal.I am tired of them. Dec and feb had to rerent, one passed and other moved. Changed my lease to be paid on the 1st. No grace period. 8 years now of landlording and they take advantage. Evicted this one. And starting a new slate and only have one left from before.thanks for listening, i have to vent or they will make you crazy. --70.171.xxx.xxx
