State Specific Question About: NEW YORK (NY)

Hi All,

I am working in NY from out of town and wondering if any of you are working in or near 11746/11743. I would like to get info on how you work with your tenants and Mr. Landlord package. Do you do Section 8 or cash residents only? --71.178.xx.xxx

Keep reading about this using the search key - sec8 needs a lot of surrogate parenting, if you have considered adoption this is the way to test your patience. You must work with tenants legally - if they don't work you will have to work double shift till they move along, follow the local and state tenant laws at a minimum. --76.188.xxx.xx

at one point about half (18) of our residents were Sec. 8. Our Housing Authority has been a big pain in the ----- for the last year or so. They have turned into an unrealistic advocate of tenants--whatever the tenant reports to them they require us to repair/re place. We have decided recently to avoid Sec 8 applicants as much as possible. Happy with this decision. --24.233.xxx.xx
