Let me try this again!
Does anyone have any experience using floor leveling compound on uneven concrete floors?
We have a concrete floor in a 1 bedroom apartment and would like to do something other than carpet. The concrete floor has high and low spots as well as several cracks. These imperfections in the concrete would quickly show through laminate flooring.
This is class A/B unit and we would like to have a nice floor.
Thanks for your help!

Using a cup grinder can eliminate the high points. You still need to level the low points.

I have used it on 1950s type chip tile to cover it before putting down self stick tile with also glue. It worked fine. The consistency has to be right so follow package directions as best you can and have good spreading tools like plaster tools. I would not grind that as I think there is some Portland cement in there and you don't want to die young. --73.33.xxx.xxx |

I use the Levelquick from home Depot on just about every one of my jobs. It works well for me most of the time. I have run into bags that were inconsistent, they wouldn't flow. I can recognize a bad bag now when I mix it and just throw them away. I use a measuring bucket for the water and add a very small amount more than what is recommended. You absolutely have to use the primer if you want it to flow. If pouring 3/8" thick or more I simply pour and let it level itself. Anything under 3/8" thick and you need a gauge rake or you will wind up with something worse than what you started with. --75.108.xxx.xx |

I use foam weather stripping to dam areas I don't want the self leveler on. --75.108.xxx.xx |
