Yeah Mike, my best tool is my 4' x8' utility trailer bought mail order from JC Whitney. I have rebuilt it and upgraded it several times. It has hauled so much for me, pulled initially by my 1970 Dodge Dart, and now by my Ranger and Jeep Liberty. Big enough to be useful, small enough to maneuver by hand. --73.141.xxx.xxx

Besides the cordless stuff including cordless nail guns.

I also would say my multimaster.

And then also the Ridgid WD3050 vac. Someone finally made a very small vac that really does have the power of a full size. I had tried so many different ones over the years. None had much power.

And on most small jobs it was not worth it to carry or pull out a normal vac. --73.177.xxx.xx

Besides the basic tools in my kit like screw drivers, hammer, cats paw, I would be hard pressed to chose between...

My Keter folding work table. Collapses flat, but folds out to a work surface about 30 x 40 inches. The clamps have a storage place in it. Easy to move, yet a sturdy work surface, with a shelf to hold to smaller tools as you work. I bought a few for DIY friends for holiday presents. They love them too.

5 in 1 tool. or now 15 in 1 tool. Put it in the back pocket, yet it can do do much.

3 inch locking blade knife. I have that clipped on my pocket all the time. In fact, if I have to remember not to take it if I go somewhere with metal detectors. Even my family knows I will have it on me at gatherings.

I also like the lithium ion tool package, cordless drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw, flashlight that all fit in a bag and use the same battery.

Best of all, I like shopping for the new tool I need to really do the project correctly. Forget the jewelry, get me a tool. --96.236.xx.xx

Makita multi tool. Blades lock in place, and it's very lightweight, vibration not nearly as bad as others I've used. Those last two are important features for my very small hands with carpal tunnel syndrome.

But, cell phone and Angie's list might edge out the multi tool as best tool combo. --172.58.xx.xxx

The tool I grab many times a day, my Leatherman. I feel lost without it. Of course my phone too. I do like my dump trailer, even though it is small. I also added a cheap skid steer last year that I got off of Craigslist. Breaks down all the time but the last rehab it actually started 5 times in a row and I was able to widen the driveway and remove lilacs and overgrown bushes. I agree that a pen would be easier and probably cheaper but sometimes I like my toys:-) I don’t really have to much of a drive for a Porsche. --174.221.xxx.xxx

J, I have skid steer envy. Pr'olly wouldn't get much indoor work done, I'd be landscaping and re landscaping constantly .

Linda, I was just trying to figure out where I was going to lay all the trim to prime and paint. Might-should go look at a Keter work table....

Tryan, Ryobi have one very great feature- inexpensive. I've had a few tools stolen, and it stings a lot less when they weren't expensive. (And they are generally lighter weight. Not an issue for most, but helps me.) --172.58.xx.xxx

Okay this will sound crazy but it's an old leatherman's tool I've had for about a dozen years. I may not have a specific tool with me when I'm out and about and encounter a need to a screwdriver, file, and such. And then it's a toss up between the drone and the nail gun. --199.253.xxx.xx

Busy (WI), for laying out long lengths of trim to paint, I like the plastic fold up saw horses. Blue hawk makes them at Lowes. Inexpensive, light weight, easily stored, space them out as needed. I have 3 sets. They hold a lot - painted a floor to ceiling bookshelves from birch plywood on them. Then I set up the Keter work table next to it to hold the sand paper, tools and paint cans. --96.236.xx.xx
