Finally, here in eastern NC (Topsail Island) we are starting to return to normal after storm Grayson. We are not equipped for snow of over one inch. Last big snow storm was 1989. Suppose to be about 70 degrees on Thursday so all of it should melt by the weekend.

There is no such thing as a named winter storm "Grayson". Its just Weather Channel blah blah. Hurricanes have been named for a long time. Weather Channel started naming winter storms. It's silly and annoying.

Oh how horrible.
It rained here today for the first time in like 120 days. Just enough to leave a few spots in the dust on the car. They had something like 200 wrecks in Las Vegas.

It is one of the things I miss living in NC. No snow.

We had 3" inches or snow, but the worst was the ICE. The OBX roads were nearly impassible for days, 3-4 inches of ice topped with snow. No plowing was done at all, no sanding or salt. We stayed home for days, no where to go!
Ally, sorry but our insurance carrier DOES accept storms named by the Weather Channel - and deductibles double under a named storm. :( --50.82.xxx.xx |

Being in the snow belt off of the great lakes we are equipped to tackle snow, wind and cold.
I feel for those that don't have the tools or know how to deal with this craziness. Wind chill last week was -18F. When it gets to that low, you change your schedule to accommodate the weather --24.101.xxx.xxx |
