I had a long term Tenant decide she wants to switch to Xfinity. She lives in a duplex that I had insulated and sided 3 years ago. I have a satellite dish policy and a no holes through my siding and walls stand is clearly stated. My new siding has an ATT box attached to the house that is pulling off and has ugly wires laying over the ground from her old server.
She assured me they could install without drilling any holes and I told her I doubted that, but if there was any damage, she would by fully responsible for returning the siding to its original state. Well they would not install because of the siding and the need to drill holes and install line, but they want my written permission first.
Ideas on how to handle this?

Are there wires in the walls? Assuming yes, they can put their box where the ATT box is, and attach to the wires already in place.
There is no reason for wires on the ground. --131.151.xx.xx |

I'm confused. Are u writing about an old tenant experience and now you have a new tenant asking permission? Just repeat your policy. Can they put box on a pole in the yard? How do the wires get in the house? Can u install a grey plastic pipe for access of wires? Can u ask your tenant to go wire less? --66.87.xx.xx |

Same tenant. She has been there 5 years. She thought she was getting a wireless install, but installer says he needs holes. --216.23.xxx.xx |

"installer says he needs holes..."
User existing holes, Mr. Installer.
The reason they want to drill new holes is they are lazy...it takes less time to draw out the old line and run their new lines. --173.19.xx.xxx |

They don't need to put in new lines. The existing coax should be just fine. It is very rare for new coax to be needed. They just need to hook up their box to the existing line demark. --131.151.xx.xx |

Xfinity/Comcast is horrible. Can't get to email at certain time of day. Very expensive tv. Prices keep going up. --73.33.xxx.xxx |

They should be able to use the same hole the old wire went in through, possibly even use the old wire. If you don't want them to drill more holes, don't give them permission to drill more holes.
When Comcast/Xfinity came out to install in my personal residence the installer told me they would drill holes through my wood floors to run the cables. I did not give them permission to do that.
I pre-wired a rental once to prevent issues from future installs. The installer just drilled new holes next to the already installed wires. --73.102.xxx.xx |

Get together to sign the agreement, in large letters over the whole paper print --> no mounting on roof or house walls, pole mounting only<--, I just saw a dish truck pulling into one of me recently refilled places, so I turned around, parked on the street and walked around to see the dish on its way up the ladder, I shook the ladder and asked the installer for a copy of the agreement - he said he would be down in a few minutes after he got this thing mounted, I said you will be down quicker when I tell you I am drilling holes in your van - you have 6 up there right? He said I can't do that - I said you can mount that on my house and I am going to get my battery drill - see you later... He came out front as I was putting the drill bit into my battery drill alongside the van - very wide eyed when I asked if he would stand back and watch, he yelled when I stepped up on my little ladder and looked over the top of the roof and told him this is a civil matter and likely the police will just ask you to go make a report at the station - it is just 1/4 mile away up this street and turn left, now he is tugging at me asking me to come down before he gets a tool to hit me - but that would be assault with a weapon I reminded him, that would result in an arrest for you - are you ready to talk about the install? Yes, Yes I will stop anything on the roof, OK now let me see the contract with the renter, and I wrote on the whole paper - pole mounting only per homeowner... --76.188.xxx.xx |

People are going to want it for fast internet in the future anyhow. You should let this happen and just dictate where it goes with minimal damage to your building. In the long run, it will be MUCH better than most satellite installs (even on a pole).
If you don't get it with this tenant, you'll be asked again with the next one. People want high-speed internet and Xfinity is likely their only good option in your area. Make it happen -- for business reasons.
