So, I was browsing the CL advertisements for real estate employment and stuff, just to keep track of the local and semi-local goings-on.
In one of the near-ish cities that has a population of about 600k, I came across one headline:
Get Paid $$ To Drive (Real Estate Apprentice Needed)
and I was curious and clicked. Basically, the meat and potatoes of the ad went along the lines of:
"I'm a real estate investor and I MUST buy at least 2 houses every month. I'm looking for FSBO signs in the [area] but don't have time to drive myself. So I'll pay you to do it for me. It's a simple job and you can do this in your spare time."
And it went on to give website and phone contact information.
When I went on to the website to see what it looked like, it was obvious that it was a lot more than that--- it's obviously a Thing I haven't run into before and wasn't just someone's personal network setup--- but I just remember my first impression--- "What a cool idea." Especially for people who deal in markets a small distance from where they actually live, or in large enough areas that they're not able to keep on top of the day-to-day opportunities cropping up in the FSBO market. Being able to have a few random people in your pocket to keep their eyes open and shoot you a photo, a text, or perhaps fill out a little form on the website in exchange for some small compensation, and perhaps an additional bonus if the deal goes through.
