State Specific Question About: CALIFORNIA (CA)
Problem: The collection agency (central CA) I assigned my $ judgments to is in bankruptcy. I tried to assign them to another agency, but they said they can't do it unless I get a release from them or maybe their bankruptcy attorney. I live in So Cal. Any suggestions? If they are still in bankruptcy get list of creditors & assets from the bankruptcy court/filing & see if your on it. If you listed then you'll have to get the bankruptcy attorney to release them. Unless the judgments represents a lot of money, it's probably not cost effective for you to hire an attorney to petition & fight the bankruptcy attorney in court for the release.
I guess what I'm saying is that your out of luck to get the release, but they may be sold to another collection agency. You'll just have to find out which one and get a release from this new agency. --47.156.x.xxx |
