Our RE tax is from July to April, paid quarterly.. I got the new tax bill 2 months ago, scanned and filed away.. Totally forgot to set up quarterly payment in my online banking.. (Just need to update the amount and payment schedule, everything else is same with last year)
Once we miss one payment, all tax is due and interest rate charged at 12% annual rate.. That was painful for not keeping on top of the bills. 2% (July and August) interest on top of the principle due.. Instantly emptied my bank account and more....
One of those expenses that a frugal (stingy) landlord hates to waste $$ on..
