I have my tenants deposit the rent in my Bank of America account every month. Most months they deposit more than the limit on monthly free cash deposits that the bank allows, so I get charged a fee. The nice officer at my banking center waves it when I ask. Is there someone out there who figured out how to avoid such fees and, or hustle? --45.29.xxx.xx |

My tenants make a monthly deposit into my BOA account, I have never been charged nor have they. I get 5 digit monthly cash deposits wth the rental payments.
I never heard of a Max monthly cash deposit limit. --108.28.xxx.xx |

Does the limit apply just to cash or any form of payment? If just cash (i.e. greenbacks), have your tenants pay using money orders, money grams, debit card, etc.
How much is this charge? $20/month is worth it, in my view. $50...getting a little steep. Mountain, mole hill?
If all else fails, try a local bank. They are often the most customer friendly choice. Mine doesn't charge me anything for serving as my payment processing center. --173.19.xx.xxx |

Wells Fargo charges my business account for ANY cash deposit, it's a percentage of some sort because some months it's $4 and some it's $15 or whatever. Most of my tenants do not use cash anymore so that's good. --173.22.xx.xx |

That is ridiculous,no way would I pay a bank for too much being deposited in the account.Open a second account at the bank and have half of the tenants start depositing in the new account --24.25.xxx.xxx |

It is different every month. If i recall correctly it's 1% fee for anything over 10k of cash deposited.
Opening another account is a great idea. Thanks Ken{NY} --45.29.xxx.xx |

I only deal with regional/local banks/credit unions. I would not ever deal with one of these mega banks. When I read about situations like this, it reaffirms my decision. --72.95.xx.x |

BOA must be the very worst bank you could deal with. Change banks, I did.

some confusion. bank & cu fees are based on volume of transactions and also $ average balances. each bank has its own fee tiers. They are NOT charging a % over $10k deposits. They are also NOT charging for cash deposits. We have accounts with tens of millions and no fees. we have accounts with hundreds k $ and little activity and small fees. We have accounts with hundreds k $ and a lot of activity and higher fees. I do agree BOA is the absolute worst. We have accounts with WFB, Chase, Union, First Republic & Bof the West. Best bank is Wells. --104.218.xxx.xx |

I should clarify. NOT my personal accounts (I wish) but those owned by private investor I work for. For my (much smaller) accounts I have at local bank, local cu and with wfb. --104.218.xxx.xx |
