Is there a device that will detect whether quasi-legal substances are being used in a property? I've googled it. What I found was that there was one in the development process several years ago. But, I don't see anything recent. Does anyone have information? Please advise. TIA --74.215.xxx.xx

I just have smokefree places and the simple wipe test works for me, sink water - white towel, do this at movein and 8 months later, bill for room prime/seal/refinish - most rooms cost 250-300, bill in next rent cycle. --76.188.xxx.xx

There is a company in Akron making the -cannibuster- which can detect how much pcp and other stuff in the blood, this is going to make police cruisers about 12lbs heavier resulting in fewer drivers with a smoke filled car, with nobody available to drive the cars get towed.... --76.188.xxx.xx

If it is a smoke free unit why would you care if it is cigarettes or pot? if it is against your lease who cares which it is they need to pay to remedy the problem.I don't understand why landlords get upset if a tenant is smoking pot in a unit if smoking cigarettes in the unit would be ok. --24.25.xxx.xxx

jaycee,

Crisis Cleaning 877-260-4824 has a kit to test for meth on the walls and other surfaces.

(some of their website and book photos are from MY meth house!)

Pot is not only everywhere, it serves some very useful purposes. Pain and anxiety relief, sleep, aids with appetite when undergoing chemotherapy...the list goes on. --173.22.xx.xx

Why do you care if your tenant is smoking pot? It does not stain the walls like tobacco, nor does the smell permeate the walls or carpet. Soda and 90% of the crap food you eat from chain restaurants is more harmful then pot. Sounds like you're running more of a halfway house than a rental. --74.128.xxx.xx

Pot has more cancer causing tar than tobacco so that will be on the walls as well as in the lungs. Two things we don't want that will kill the economy and this country for our enemies: legalized pot and internet gambling. --73.33.xxx.xxx

You don't smoke nearly as much pot as you do when you are hooked on cigarettes, Allym. And its benefits far outweigh the risks.

NOTHING is perfectly safe, after all!

Legalized pot could save this country haha. The tax stream alone could fix our infrastructure. The health benefits could help with the social anxiety and opioid addictions so many are struggling with. The farming business could put people to work. And best of all, it would stop the insane imprisonment of innocent people for buying and selling a natural weed.

Look into the history of the demonization of pot. It's pretty awful. --173.22.xx.xx

Actually, pot is LESS harmful to the lungs than tobacco, which concentrates radioactivity.
