Is it legal for landlords to put meters on tenant's water supply lines and charge each tenant for whatever they use each billing period in this State ? or not ? Thank you --173.48.xxx.xx

The short answer is yes it is legal for a MA LL to have tenants pay for their water. However all of the faucets, mixing valves, toilets, etc must be water savers. There are a few other requirements that have to be followed. Google "Massachusetts Law about Submetering Water for Tenants" for a complete explanation. --72.93.xxx.xxx
