Some of you may already know this, I did not.

I've noticed on my iPhone lately that when I type in a number to call, at the top of my screen, it will read: maybe: Ms. Deadbeat Tenant or Maybe: Mr. late Payer.

My phone would recognize the digital signature of the other persons phone. I did not know this.

So that means, chances are, when people call me that it did the same thing on their end.

I changed mine today to my business name, so now it's all good. That's what they will see, not my name.

This is for you landlord's that like to maintain whatever scraps of secrecy and privacy you have left in this world.

It's not for you "what's the big deal" folks.

That may be carrier specific. For mine, through Sprint, I can go into the Sprint site and state what I want my Caller ID to say.

Meanwhile, I don't always get a WHO is calling. Sometimes it is just the number. --131.151.xx.xx

It has to do with when you're using Apple mail (having an email address forwarded to Apple mail). If you want to turn this off, it is easy on iPhones.

Go to Settings: Contacts. There is a setting there called "Contact Found in Apps". Albeit, this is for your phone to show "Maybe".

But to address the issue with other people seeing a Maybe: Your Name - an email signature cleanup/edit would do. --204.145.xxx.x

I shifted away from Android because I was tired and leary of Google connecting all my info and making connections to other people. This is a major reason I don't do personal FB.

Now Apple is doing the same thing.

I've not seen what you describe.

If you look at the Contacts page for a person Apple now has a field for MOBILE # and and a different field for IPHONE #.

As FB and Google have led the way, our personal data is more valuable than their product.
