Do you live in an area with ticks (esp deer tick which besides Lyme can carry 7 different nasty infectious agents that can change your life forever)
This has been shown to rid a property 90% of deer ticks.
Meaning you STILL have to take precautions but this can at least help/
BTW Opossums are also considered good to have,..they are often called tick destroyers,,..and are like mine sweepers ,..attracting ticks hen killing them.

cool. we are inundated this year. I was actually going to buy some guinea hens because ticks are their preferred bug. I will try this around the house - we've got about 100 acres so not possible to do this everywhere and not sure how to measure results but it can't hurt ... and it's going to be quieter than the guinea hens. --72.95.xx.xx |

We have so many ticks in our yard that we have to strip the kids immediately and bathe them after playing outside. Then look them over and go through their hair.
Last night I took one out of my son that was so smallnit looked like a speck of dirt. I just throw them in a sandwich bag and label with a date and location they were taken off of and from what kid and put them in the freezer. It was so small that if it ever crawled down in their ears we wouldn't find it.
It's why we got chickens.
We even bug spray the kids and average one tick on a kid each time we are outside. At a minimum it's been every other time so far this spring. --174.201.xx.xx |

NE - try the permethrin mentioned rather than something like deep woods off ... it really makes a difference. --72.95.xx.xx |

Hollis, watch out,any tick is a carrier of Lyme, not necessarily a deer tick. Was sitting out on the front porch fairly late one night,A young Possum came along sat down and surveyed me for several minutes, them went on his way,as much as to say,"what the hell do you think you're doing"?............................Charlie........................................... --174.199.xx.xx |

Some problems,..DEER ticks are so small,...get out a dime. look at the "D" on the dime. a deer tick is about that size,..actually the juvinile ones can be much smaller and carry even more load of some of the diseases that deer ticks can carry.
Chances are that you won't see them esp in areas that they may crawl into that is hard to look at.
Note that only 1/2 of the people bitten will get that bullseye rash. Also the tests are considered only 65% accurate allowing for many to fall thru the cracks.
Some studies say if you are not treated in 48 hours you may now be faced with chronic Lyme.
Lyme can get into your joints, brain, and heart . CAN be severe. (IE heart block, and neurological symptoms that mimic MS and even ALS..
The point is,..learn about Lyme. The CDC says it may be the worst year ever of it. And maybe its the norm that it will get worse every year,..Perhaps 300,00 people a year now and rising.
Look at this
