I have a huge hole in my previously painted panelibg that is as big as my forearm. How can i fix it? Spackle doesnt seem to want to adhere nor does drywall mud. Not even with fiberglass tape & metal patch screens. --166.137.xxx.xx |

Make a blow out patch with drywall. That will fix it. Look for a YouTube video. --50.32.xxx.xxx |

Like NE suggested make a patch out of a solid material then compound to blend in. This could be made out of a material similar to the old paneling or perhaps a piece of sheetrock. Just cut a piece of material larger than the hole, lay it over the hole & mark around the edges, cut out the outline, add some cleats & install the new patch.
You could also try using some low expansion foam to fill most of the hole. After the foam cures finish up with some drywall compound or bondo. --72.93.xxx.x |

Also, when your done, if there are existing lines in the paneling and you need to make a new one to match, just take a level and line up the existing lines in the paneling level above and below the patch.
Then take a brand new angled sanding block and run it along the level LIGHTLY through new spackle patch. This will give you a matching groove. --50.32.xxx.xxx |

Find auto panel repair product - bondo, with this you get about 7-10 minutes to model in the seams, lightly sand the edge to the parent panel then seal/prime/paint. --76.188.xxx.xx |

Thanks guys, that helped out alot. The house is a rental that I was getting cleaned up & ready to rent again. Previous tenants I suppose. The mirror advice...I doubt the owners would approve that kind of a quick fix. Although very funny. Thanks everyone --174.134.xxx.xxx |
