Is anybody getting excited yet? I am. Throughout the year, you tend to forget how powerful and stimulating the convention actually is. Now that it's May, I'm starting to get excited. I'm at the mechanics getting an Oil change, tire rotation, etc etc etc so I'll be ready for a little drive north. I'm looking forward to seeing friends, meeting new folks, enjoying the company of so many people with similar goals and methods of reaching them. We are in a tough profession where the majority of the people doing LLing simply wash out. The system is rigged against us.......and that is okay if you understand it going into it.

It is always great to think of the business in the form of programs and policies.......but what really makes me feel good is gathering with out people who are in the field.

NE, I would like to go and meet and put faces on names that we talk to,But my wife has early onset Alzheimer's and can't be left on her own,as it is ,we have someone come in almost every day in order for her to shower.

I have thought about coming to the convention or cruise for years. When I first started following the forum my girls were little little.. And now they aren't so little.

I have always been a little (ok a lot) hesitant to register because my husband and I both very introverted.

Being a life member of the VFW, I take my duty as a veteran incredibly seriously. The Thursday before Memorial Day our post puts out flags on the the grave site of others who have fallen.

It is a task that is not glamorous and it is very tedious. There is a group of about a dozen of us that put out 43 dozen flags. When you are done with a cemetery you look back over all the flags you will get a lump in your throat. You will see a sea of red white and blue......only a fellow veteran will understand the amount of sacrifice that is being symbolized.

Call myself selfish, but this year I will not be joining that team on Thursday. I will be part of the advanced party and will put out my three dozen the afternoon before.

I'll be with you all so I am hoping you can cheer me up a bit. I'll be hoping that the comrades back home will be able to cover for me in completing the task at hand. --24.239.xx.xxx

Robin and all others who think they're a bit shy or as you call it introverted, pick up and go,ther'll come a time when you won't be able because of one thing or another. If you think you have a problem talking to people,get yourself a dog,no get two dogs,one to keep the other company when you're not around. They have to be taken out for a walk every morning and again in the evening. Being honest, yep, I'm a little nervous, but also excited. I started my landlording adventure in late 2015, and have just 2 properties under my belt. To find out that the convention was in my backyard in Cleveland, it was a no-brainer to come. However, my support staff (hubby, son and daughter-in-law) have all bailed for other events. So, it's just ME.

But that won't stop me from coming, meeting new people and gathering as much information as my mind (and hands) can carry.

Excited and looking forward to the the convention. Was told I'm speaking at 1 pm on Thursday. I'm talking on a different subject this year, "Tax Assessment Appeals". In one year I lowered my assessments by $750,000 without either appraisals or attorneys.
