In a nearby town and coming to your town:
www.pal-item.com/story/news/crime/2017/04/22/rpd-uproot-drug-offenders-evictions/100690228/
Police plan to use NUISANCE laws to require the druggie be evicted and will "help" with the eviction.
Indiana evictions are eezy peezy, $86 filing fee.
Whaddyathink?

Irony...
This town is the home base for Doxpop, the online court records service we use! The criminal records for almost the entire state are available from this service right in their town!

Interesting program.
And interesting that one official admitted cops don't receive training on civil issues. Duh.
I think I've only had one tenant that seemed to be a drug dealer, at least that I can remember, and we simply told them that we are not required to PROVE that they are, we can move for an emergency eviction with just suspicion of criminal activity. They quickly moved without incident.
On the other hand, we had a neighbor property that was OBVIOUSLY dealing, and even though all the neighbors reported them, nothing was done. We heard through the grapevine that he was busted, but turned witness for HIS source and just kept on dealing.
It wasn't until I continually complained to the County about the mess in the yard that their Landlord finally evicted them. They moved, anyway. --173.22.xx.xx |

We need a law like that in the province of Ontario where in the process of evicting a tenant who using meth. It is very difficult here to evict for illegal drugs as the government feels we should be social agency. Illegal drug use brings the thug drug dealers around the buildings. Not acceptable for the other tenants. --65.95.xx.xx |
