Some of you are aware, but many do not realize how much I truly listen and appreciate the input of landlords and contributors of this site. This is true even when it comes to where our Convention is held, Several years I have even put it to a vote on which city the Convention will be held.

About 3 or 4 months ago, one city in particular was suggested by one landlord followed by regular website contributors. I took note of that discussion and started exploring the possibility of that potential city (which I would have not otherwise considered if it had not been suggested) among other past favorite cities.

Well after a lot of negotiations with different hotels in different states to get the best deal possible for our meeting space, which included a high quality hotel with greatly reduced room rates compared to normal room rates, free wifi for attendees, free parking, really good meal options and quality for our VIP buffet luncheons, the city and hotel has been selected and is now being officially announced.

Our 16th Convention will be held in Cleveland, Ohio at the Marriott Airport! May 25-27, 2017, Congratulations Pookie (and others), you got your wish for a Cleveland Convention:)

I always post what I (we) have taken away from every convention since our first in 2011. We are excited to discover what this year's soiree will bring.

For all of the newbies... this convention is a BIG... Pookie and I have made amazing friends (that we usually only see at the convention), learned tons of meat and potatoes information, and reset our minds and spirits.

You wanna be around crazy folks with the same mindset??? This is the event. Warning: It is so fast pace you won't even notice it. Long days and nights talking with people just like you. Laughter and "oh yeah" moments everywhere.

For those signing up today and making room reservations, please note that by noon eastern you should be able to make your room reservations at the Host Hotel. (I was so excited I made the above announcement a couple of hours prior to them being completely setup to receive room reservations:) We've got a great group rate which is $70 lower than their normal rate for that time of year. Just a note to anybody on the fence about the convention. If you haven't been to one, go to at least

one! It really opens your mind to new ideas and you meet great like-minded people. Plus you get to put a face to the names here on the forum, which is nice. It's impossible to pay attention during the convention and not at least learn one business changing strategy.

SID, we decided to drive because although the flight is only 5+ hours (no non-stops) when adding in the trek to the airport itself (1+ hour each way) and getting there early to go through Security and such it ended up being the same number of hours as driving, plus no car at the other end. Also no control over departure and arrival times.

To find out that the Mr. Landlord National Convention was being held in Cleveland, Ohio this year has me super excited. Being a new landlord (<2 years) and living literally 30 minutes from Cleveland, this is a no-brainer. And, I just found out that my son and daughter-in-law want to attend as well; so they can eventually begin to invest in rental properties.
