State Specific Question About: CALIFORNIA (CA)
I have been awarded a money judgement by the court, for tenants failure to pay rent. They have also been scheduled for move out by the courts by the end of the month. Tenant also has a security deposit with me. What is the best steps for compliance? --47.147.xxx.xxx |

HI Roscoe Harvey!
Welcome to the board...
I do not live in CA, in my state If the judgement has not given tenant credit for the security deposit, then I just follow my state rules on returning it. For me that is send a letter of notification of walk thur. Take photos, make repairs, send accounting of damages and accounting of the deposit - negative or positive - to the last known address.
Your state may be different. Perhaps someone from CA will come along, share with them the city or county you are in. That can be helpful too.
Hopefully the tenants will move before the appointed court date to set out! it's tough, hang in there. --173.127.xxx.xx |
